On the 2nd Monday and 4th Sunday of every month we host our I-HELP guests. Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP) is a homeless lodging program through AZCEND. I-HELP provides a safe place to sleep and a hot meal for adults experiencing homelessness. We open our doors to assist 10-20 I-HELP guests. The assistance includes an evening meal, bag lunches and breakfast for the guests.
Throughout the month of October, the Missions Team is leading a Fall food drive for AZCEND. Year Round Needs: Mac & cheese, pasta, whole wheat cereal, canned fruit, canned veggies, dry pinto beans, pasta sauce, soup, peanut butter, etc.
Arizona Justice for Our Neighbors is committed to serving individuals who are immigrants by providing quality, timely, and affordable legal services. We ensure the people we serve are treated with dignity and respect. Our vision is to create opportunities, growth, and empowerment for immigrants restoring hope, healing, and justice through policy change, legal representation, and leadership advocacy.
Neighbors Who Care provides essential, non-medical support services that help older adults live independently and with dignity in their own homes. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the organization offers transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping assistance, friendly visits, respite care, minor repairs, and more. All these services are offered at no cost to the clients.
Volunteering with Neighbors Who Care is more than just giving time; it's making a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors who need support and companionship.
Our mission focus for July is Justa Center, a United Methodist ministry and day center for seniors who are experiencing homelessness.
In addition to helping FIT with our Communion Offering, we are partnering with Chandler's 2025 Operation Back to School! We need your help to outfit Chandler students with new school shoes. They must be new athletic/tennis shoes. They need all sizes for boys, girls, men and women. They prefer generic brands.
We will have the opportunity to not only collect donations of household goods for refugee families from The Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Sudan, Myanmar and other war-torn countries, but also to help organize the warehouse and deliver household items and meet families.
For the first time in several years, we have rejoined forces with the Mighty United Methodist Coalition to sponsor a home through Habitat for Humanity. Our Mission Committee has accepted the challenge of raising $5,000 in the next two months so the home can be completed.
UMOM New Day Centers is the largest provider of services for homeless families in the state of Arizona. Families at UMOM have the opportunity to gain the skills, medical care, quality child care and education they need to rebuild their lives. The Missions Team is also supporting UMOM with a personal hygiene items drive.
